The Jewish cemetery in Cieszowa occupies a rectangular plot with an area of 3,372 square meters.
The cemetery was established in the second half of the 17th century.
Professor Mark Brann in his book Die juedischen Altertuemer von Cieschowa described, among other things, the history of the cemetery. He was amazed by the dates carved in sandstone. He remembers a matzeva from 1650.
The cemetery survived the First World War, the interwar period and the time of World War II.
Currently, 131 tombstones from the 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved in the cemetery.
The tombstones were made of sandstone and limestone. On the flat stone tombstones, typical decorations and inscriptions in Hebrew and German have been preserved.
